PM420

The in-house developed Punching unit, especially designed for the CM420 thermoforming machine, for accurate punching, stacking and counting of the thermoformed products.

The hole punching device is fitted directly behind the forming station to punch the holes in the bottom. The articles are ejected by the mould directly on the holder of the hole punch. Vacuum keeps the articles on the holders of the hole punch. Every cycle the hole punch turns 90° counter clockwise.

After the first turn, in the down position, the holes are punched in the articles. The next cycle the articles are ejected in the stacking device and stacked. The hole punch has its own servo drive for the rotation, and a separate control unit for the pneumatic drive and sensors. Air cylinders are driving the individual punches. The cutting plate is at the down side. The cutting waste falls in the collecting box. The hole punch is designed for 25 cycles/minute.

PM420 highlights

  • Turntable with 4 sets of pneumatic mandrels with cutting pins (dependable on product)
  • Base plate with 6 hardened cutting plates (dependable on product)
  • Vacuum suction unit for the scrap
  • Pneumatic vertical stacking- separating unit with counter
  • Conveyor belt for products storage with a buffer for the stacks
  • Servo driven turntable for highest accuracy

The hole punching device is designed for 3 or 6 cavities. The cutting parts are made from steel 1.2379 and hardened up to 60-62 HRC and the grinding is done with a coordinated grinding machine.

The stacking of the articles is done vertically into a cassette. When the stacking height is reached the upper parts take with plate springs under the pile of products and put it onto the transport belt. From this transport belt the piles of products must be packed manually in carton boxes. Without a stacking device the products are stacked horizontally into a stacking gutter.
